Tonga National Centre for Women and Children (TNCWC) is a crisis centre based in Nuku'alofa, Tongatapu, established in 2000. TNCWC provides support, counselling, information, advocacy and referrals for women and children experiencing violence. TNCWC also runs a Community Awareness Program working with men, women and children on gender-based violence and its causes and consequences. The work of TNCWC is informed by the principles of human rights, with a particular focus on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the Convention on the Elimination of All forms of Discrimination Against Women.
